I Want My CBSC

The CBSC concluded that the presence of the word “faggot” in the song contravened the Human Rights Clauses of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ (CAB) Code of Ethics and Equitable Portrayal Code.

Why didn't the CBSC do anything when the CBC published this article, wherein they describe a performance of the following as "the toast of the great white way..."

"A standard would imply a judgment based on a set of feelings and opinions and moral codes, the latter two themselves based on consideration, understanding of context, and something we might call “wisdom.” The CBSC would respond that they were responding to a complaint – so let’s get it right, and rename them the Canadian Broadcast Reflex Council."

1. Because the CBSC is responsible only for administering standards among member private broadcasters, and the CBC is the public broadcaster?

2. Because the CBSC only deals with radio and television broadcasts, and the CBC article was only published on the Web?

3. Because the supposedly objectionable content from Hair wasn't actually included in the CBC article in the first place?
